« Le lac de Fish » is the 7th album of Tue-Loup and is a change and a return to basics at the same time.
A change in person, first : Romain Allanot, historical drummer of the group decided to go try something else. Thomas Fiancette replaces him and his approach to drumming is completely different. Disappointed by the jazz musical universe he now seeks out simple rhythms, however worked out in details, avoids repeting formulas, elaborates and stamps well. Another change is also important. Xavier Plumas, songwriter of the group has evolved from his previous universe, far away from the birthplace of the older songs of Tue-Loup, to write such texts as “Adieu les Bordes”.
A return to basics - you can feel the desire to return to an original writing style, closer to the first recording made by the musicians, yet improved by a surprising maturity. It is possible to feel this change with less jazz influences than such songs as “Rachel au Rocher” used to be. Then you arrive closer to the universe of “La Belle Inutile”, based on a more story telling style.
Finally you arrive in the fields of Tue-Loup : Long plains, motionless journeys, watching days go by…With a new light, under brilliant sunshine, or a cloudy sky but always in a pictural universe…
