L'Orchestre National de Barbès
La petite histoire raconte que l'Orchestre National de Barbès est né par hasard sur une jam dans le 18ème arrondissement de Paris fin 1995, puis sur la scène du New Morning en 1996.
25 années plus tard, on peut certifier que le hasard fait bien les choses pour cette bande de copains musiciens. Après plus de 1000 concerts donnés de Londres à Montevideo, les 10 porte-drapeaux du nom de Barbès, quartier parisien chamarré, continuent de faire danser avec leur brassage musical, entre sons d'Afrique du Nord (châabi, raï, gnawa) et tout ce qui leur passe par la tête : rock, reggae ou ska cuivré...
À l’occasion de leurs 25 ans de tournée, l'Orchestre National de Barbès revient avec un nouvel opus pour 2022. Un album qui va affirmer une fois de plus le mélange des genres renforcé par le son si particulier de la French Touch Transmaghrèbine du combo parisien.
Symbole de métissage, le groupe se revendique à l'image de la France actuelle : un patchwork multiculturel et énergique, intelligent et irrésistiblement festif !

The story goes that L’Orchestre National de Barbès was born on a jam session in the 18th arrondissement of Paris at the end of 1995, then officially on the New Morning stage in 1996.
25 years later, after more than 1000 concerts given from London to Montevideo, the 10 flag-bearers from Barbès, a colorful Parisian district, continue to dance with their musical influences, between sounds from North Africa (châabi, raï, gnawa) and anything that goes through their minds: rock, reggae, ska...
For their 25 years of touring, L’Orchestre National de Barbès is back with a new album for 2022. An album which will once again affirm the melting of genres, reinforced by the very particular sound of the French Parisian combo touch.
Symbol of crossbreeding, the group claims to be looking like the France of today: a multicultural and energetic patchwork, intelligent and irresistibly festive!
